Denison, TX – December 14, 2023 – Vilbig & Associates, proudly hosted the annual holiday party and dessert competition for the Northeast Texas Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) on Thursday, December 14th, 2023.
Engineers from across the region gathered at the festive event to celebrate the holiday season and engage in stimulating discussions on ethics and engineering practices. The venue was abuzz with the spirit of camaraderie and professional fellowship as participants enjoyed an evening filled with lively conversations and friendly competition.
Catered by Rustico’s, the event featured a delicious fajita buffet that included an assortment of mouth-watering options such as queso, beans, fajita meat, and fajita vegetables. The culinary delights provided the perfect backdrop for the festive occasion.
The dessert competition, a highlight of the evening, showcased the culinary talents of a smaller group of contestants compared to the previous year. However, the competition was no less fierce, with participants vying for the coveted trophy.
Following a spirited runoff, the victor emerged: Matthew Fusselman, EIT of Vilbig & Associates. Fusselman’s creation, the Christmas Éclair Cake, earned him the title and the prestigious trophy. The dessert competition not only added a sweet touch to the celebration but also highlighted the creative and competitive spirit within the engineering community.
Prior to the dessert competition, attendees engaged in a lively ethics discussion, providing engineers with the opportunity to earn 1 pdh credit. This insightful discussion served as a platform for professionals to reflect on their commitment to the engineering profession and the paramount importance of ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
